Την Δευτέρα ξεκίνησε το Εθνικό Συνέδριο των Ρεπουμπλικανών. Αφού οι Δημοκρατικοί δέχθηκαν κυρίως θετικά σχόλια για το δικό τους (ψηφιακό) Συνέδριο, που πραγματοποιήθηκε εν μέσω της πανδημίας του κορωνοϊού, το κοινό περίμενε με ανυπομονησία για την απάντηση των Ρεπουμπλικάνων, λέει ο Independent.
Οι μισοί απ’ τους κορυφαίους ομιλητές ήταν μέλη της οικογένειας Τραμπ. Την παράσταση έκλεψε -αρνητικά- η σύντροφος του Donald Trump Jr, Kimberly Guilfoyle, που έδωσε μια υπερβολικά ενθουσιώδη και παράξενη ομιλία επαινώντας τον πρόεδρο Τραμπ και χλευάζοντας τον Joe Biden.
Λόγω της πανδημίας δεν υπήρχαν θεατές, μόνο αυτή και η κάμερα. Κι όμως, συμπεριφερόταν σα να ήταν από κάτω δεκάδες χιλιάδες φανς που παραληρούσαν! Ξαφνικά άρχισε να φωνάζει στο κενό – στην άδεια αίθουσα:
