Η πρωθυπουργός της Νέας Ζηλανδίας, Jacinda Ardern, δέχεται επαίνους για την αποφασιστική στάση της κατά του ρατσισμού μετά τις επιθέσεις σε τζαμιά που στοίχισαν τη ζωή σε 50 ανθρώπους.
Η αντίδραση της Ardern στην εθνική τραγωδία, τη χειρότερη στην ιστορία της Νέας Ζηλανδίας, έχει προκαλέσει παγκόσμια συγκίνηση. Από τη δέσμευση της να απαγορεύσουν τα ημιαυτόματα όπλα και τον καθησυχασμό της μουσουλμανικής κοινότητας ως την εστίαση της προσοχής της στα θύματα, σε αντίθεση με τα μέσα ενημέρωσης που επικεντρώθηκαν στον δολοφόνο, λέει ο Independent.
Να πέντε τρόποι που οι ηγέτες του κόσμου μπορούν να ακολουθήσουν το παράδειγμα της Ardern μετά από μια τραγωδία:
1. Καταδίκασε αμέσως την τρομοκρατία ανεξαρτήτως προέλευσης
Η πρωθυπουργός της Νέας Ζηλανδίας καταδίκασε την τραγική επίθεση ως τρομοκρατική σε λιγότερο από 24 ώρες δηλώνοντας για τον εκτελεστή: «Είναι τρομοκράτης. Είναι εγκληματίας. Είναι εξτρεμιστής. Αλλά, όταν μιλάω γι΄αυτόν, θα είναι ανώνυμος.»

2. Βρέθηκε κατευθείαν κοντά στα θύματα
Θετική εντύπωση προκάλεσε σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο ο τρόπος με τον οποίο αγκάλιασε τη μουσουλμανική κοινότητα μετά την επίθεση. Υποσχέθηκε να καλύψει τα έξοδα της κηδείας των 50 θυμάτων, πέρασε χρόνο με τις οικογένειες τους και φόρεσε χιτζάμπ για να τους τιμήσει.
Απευθύνθηκε στο κοινοβούλιο χρησιμοποιώντας το μουσουλμανικό χαιρετισμό, “As-salamu alaykum”, που σημαίνει η ειρήνη να είναι μαζί σας

4. Ξεκίνησε νομοθετική δράση για την απαγόρευση των πυροβόλων όπλων
Συνέχισε λέγοντας ότι η νομοθεσία για τον έλεγχο των πυροβόλων όπλων «θα αλλάξει» και δεσμεύθηκε να απαγορεύσει την χρήση ημιαυτόματων όπλων από ιδιώτες. Σε απάντηση, ανώτεροι υπάλληλοι της κυβέρνηση της Νέας Ζηλανδίας υποσχέθηκαν να εισαγάγουν επιπλέον μέτρα ελέγχου.

5. Μίλησε για τα social media και το ρόλο τους
Είπε ότι τα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης πρέπει να αναλάβουν δράση και να σταματήσουν να προσποιούνται ότι είναι ουδέτερα. «Είναι εκδότες, όχι ταχυδρόμοι. Δεν γίνεται να έχουν μόνο κέρδος και καμία ευθύνη.»
Αυτό έγινε μετά τη συνεχόμενη προβολή του βίντεο που είχε ανεβάσει ο εκτελεστής, παρά τις εκκλήσεις των αρχηγών της αστυνομίας προς το κοινό να μην το διαδίδει.
