Η εκπομπή έκανε πρεμιέρα το 1989. Ο Bart ήταν τότε 9 ετών και ο Homer 39. Αλλά ο παραγωγός και συγγραφέας του Simpsons Al Jean προκάλεσε σύγχυση όταν έγραψε σε τουίτ του ότι αν ο Homer είναι ακόμα 39 ετών, τότε αυτό σημαίνει ότι γεννήθηκε το 1980, την χρονιά δηλαδή που, υποτίθεται, ότι γεννήθηκε ο Bart.
